Many of our customers have mandatory obligations under Emissions Trading Schemes. To help manage this risk, COzero™ originates low cost offset projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol. The offsets, known as Certified Emission Reductions (CERs), are allowable offsets under both the Australian CPRS, and the EU-ETS.

CDM Origination

Originate Carbon is COzero's CDM origination arm. Based in the UK, originate carbon works closely with project developers in developing countries to bring projects under the Clean Development Mechanism. Current projects include an Energy Efficient Lighting Upgrade in Beijing, China; and two Run-of-river Hydro Power stations in Mongolia. The projects produce both Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) and Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) certified to the Voluntary Carbon Standard.
